The AICPA offers Total Tax Insights (“Tax Calculator”) as a public service to provide U.S. citizens and residents of the United States with estimated information about their overall, annual tax liability (taking into account federal, state and local taxes). The Tax Calculator is a tax estimator tool only and should only be used to calculate an individual’s estimated total tax liability. The Tax Calculator is not intended to serve as an online tax preparation tool for either a federal or state income tax return, or any other return; any other use is strictly prohibited.
The Tax Calculator is provided with the understanding that the AICPA and its staff are not engaged in rendering any legal, accounting or other professional service. If legal advice or other expert assistance is required, the services of a competent professional should be sought. The AICPA and its staff make no representations, warranties or guarantees about and assume no responsibility for the content or application of the material contained herein and expressly disclaim all liability for any damages arising out of the use of, reference to or reliance on the Tax Calculator.
There are many taxes state and local governments collect, and the calculator does not include all possible taxes an individual pays. The most widely used taxes are incorporated into this calculator.
The tax rates used in the Tax Calculator are based on approximations and averages in some instances and are based on the 2012 rules for federal calculations and 2011 rules for state and local calculations. Many credits, deductions, subtractions and additions are beyond the scope of the Tax Calculator.
Tax Information entered into the Tax Calculator is not stored or saved on a server or your computer's disk drive, nor is the tax data stored or transmitted anywhere else.
Your access to and use of the Tax Calculator is subject to the above terms and conditions. By accessing the Tax Calculator, you accept, without limitation or qualification, the above terms and conditions.
